The first batch of graduates from the Free Senior High (FSHS) programme who excelled in the 2020 West African Senior High School Examination (WASSCE) are set to benefit from a government scholarship for their further studies in the tertiary level. This will cover students who obtained excellent grades.
According to the Registrar of the Ghana Scholarship Secretariat, Kingsley Agyemang, process and measures are being put in place to cater for the brilliant but needy students to get their share of the initiative. he made this revelation on the Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, Wednesday after two excelled Asuoba-based students who had 6A’s and 2B’s were interviewed.
Students in the persons of Irene Adobea Amanful and John Dankwah lamented how they will further their tertiary education despite their excellent grades, however, Mr. Kingsley’s announcement brought hope and some stress release to these students.
Mr. Kingsley however added that Ghana Scholarships Secretariat is now strategically positioned to effectively deliver on its mandate of awarding scholarships to Ghanaians for tertiary education.
