The Ghana Education Service (GES) in an official statement has revealed when placement of candidates who sat for the 2020 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) will be released.
The West African Examination Council (WAEC) released the provisional results of candidates who sat for the BECE in December 2020. According to the release by the Examining body, a total of 531,707 candidates made up of 269,408 males and 262,299 females sat for the examination. this figure is 2.78% higher than the 2019 number of candidates who sat for the exams.
The candidates were from a total of 17,436 schools and the examination was administered at 2,012 centre across the country. Out of the total number of candidates who initially registered,1.59% were absent, the statement added.
Finally, the GES has slated a for the placement of students in the various Senior High Schools (SHSs) across Ghana. According to the Ghana Education Service, candidates can check their placement status from the 3rd of February, 2021 onwards.
