Individuals from the length and breadth of the country who are social media fanatics have shown an aggressive reaction in a form of showing their displeasure towards the Ghana Education Service (GES). Reactions observed by Listengh.net indicate that teachers and some citizens especially parents are not elated with the visuals circulating on the various social media platforms.
Social media has been occupied with images from the ongoing fumigation exercises in all basic schools across the country but one caught the attention of the general public. According to information made available to us, the said images which have set social media ablaze is purported to be structures of a basic school named Camp Junction E/A Primary School in the Bia East District of the Western North Region
According to our monitoring team on the various social media platforms, teachers have accepted the fact that GES has neglected their welfare but this neglect should not be extended to pupils/students. A sound mind leaves in a healthy body and environment, therefore, the mind of the learner should be free from any form of environmental obstruction hence the need for conduciveness of the learning environment.
Monitoring on the various social media platforms, the following were some of the inscriptions and reactions we came across; “How can GES fumigate a school a so-called school which does not qualify to be called a coop”, “These schools deadlier than the novel virus itself”, and many other questions which were directed to the Ghana Education Service.
