The Minister Designate for Education, Dr.Yaw has expressed his gratitude to the first Gentleman of the Land, President Akufo-Addo. In a post made by the minister who doubles as the Member of Parliament for the people of Bosomtwe, he indicated that it has been fun serving under the current government administration although there were difficulties at certain times.
“It has been fun and adventurous serving during the first term of President Akufo-Addo’s administration. Unannounced visits, tours (one of which armed men shot at my car several times), speeches, conferences, media interaction etc. characterized my portfolio; and I enjoyed them”, the minister wrote.
Dr. Adutwum worked under Matthew Opoku- Prempeh as the Deputy Minister of Education during Akufo-Addo’s first tenure. He is said to have championed the famous Free Senior High School (FSHS) policy.
He however indicated that the implementation of several reforms has not been in vain. He reiterated that the successes achieved and the changes made in the education sector are enormous.
“From crèche to the tertiary level, the implementation of several reforms has not been in vain. The successes achieved and the changes made in the education sector are enormous. As I look back into time, through these pictures, I agree that I came, I saw, and I am on course”, he added.
