NEW: 2012-2015 Teachers owed legacy arrears petition President Akufo-Addo

A group calling itself the Association of Aggrieved Teachers has petitioned The President of Ghana, H.E Nana Akufo-Addo.

In a press statement sighted by listengh.net, The aforementioned association wishes to draw the attention of the President that teachers from 2012-2015 teachers have still not been paid our legacy arrears contrary to claims by the government that all arrears owed teachers have been paid.

According to the group, it is very disheartening and shocking that the government abandoned the 2012 to 2015 batch of teachers and paid most of 2016 to 2019 year batches of teachers before the general elections despite numerous promises by the government.

The group however wishes to bring to the attention of the president that the arrears owed them have still not been paid.

It has additionally cautioned the Akufo-Addo led government to stick to its promise and pay the arrears as promised.
“Our next line of action will follow soon if our demand is still not met”, the group issued a threat.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The aforementioned association wishes to draw the attention of the President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo that teachers from 2012-2015 teachers have still not been paid our legacy arrears contrary to claims by the government that all arrears owed teachers have been paid.

We received with shock and surprise that the government abandoned we 2012_2015 batch of teachers and paid most 2016 -2019 year batches of teachers before the general elections despite numerous promises by the government.
Government was so discriminatory paying teachers it recruited so, the question is are the 2012-2015 year batches of teachers citizens or spectators ? We are so disappointed and we want to bring to the attention of the president that the arrears owed us are not still not paid .

The government should stick to his promise and pay us as promised.
Our next line of action will follow soon if our demand is still not met.
