The Management of Ghana Education Service (GES) has postponed the yet to be commenced eight (8) day Common Core Programme (CCP) for all Junior High School Teachers across the country. This was disclosed to the various Regional Education Directorate nationwide from the GES headquarters with which the main reasons for the postponement are unknown.
According to our research team, the possible causes for the postponement may include; a consideration of teachers who subscribed to the UCC three-semester programme, a better structure for the payment of allowances and T&T for participants of the workshop, et al.
It will, however, interest you to know that the teachers on sandwich mode would have been unable to take part in the CCP workshop because their academic calendar conflicts with that of GES/NaCCA common Core Programme workshop. Furthermore, during the trainer of trainers’ workshop, there were a lot of irregularities which involved boycotting of the programme in some designated centres such as the Bono, Northern, Bono East, Ahafo and the Ashanti Region over the poor treatment meted out to the said participants. From our sources, this is what the Ghana Education Service(GES) in collaboration with the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA).
However, a reschedule date is yet to be decided by the service which will be announced soon. Therefore, all Metro, Municipal, District directors, teachers, and all other staff are to note this new development. The GES is, however, urging all concerned individuals to be on standby for further updates.
