The Ghana Education Service (GES) is set to conduct a suppplementary promotional exam for persons who would not be able to take part in the ongoing GES promotion exam due to inability of the service to generate index numbers for the said individuals.
The Director General of the Ghana Education Service has promised in a press release Ref. GESIPR/RELEASE62, dated 24 February, 2021, that a suppplementary test would be organized for the affected teachers upon provision of their details for verification.

A press release signed by the General Secretary of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), Thomas Musah sighted by listengh.net indicates that the anomally has come to the notice of the union that significant numbers of teachers were not allowed to write the GES Promotion Test 2021, on the pretext that they did not have index numbers for it. According to Thomas Musah, the union has taken up the matter by alerting the GES boss, Prof Kwasi Opoku Amankwa.
“We have taken the issue up and made the Director General of the Ghana Education Service aware that it was no fault of theirs that the affected teachers did not have the said index numbers”, the statement added.
The leadership of the is therefore calling on all affected members to stay calm as matters will be resolved soon.
“In the light of this, we urge all afected teachers to remain calm, since leadership is working to ensure that they are not disadvantaged, and believing that the said Supplementary test would be organized for them as promised”, the statement added.
