The Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has reviewed the protocol on food vendors on school compound and wishes to inform all heads of school that food vendors are now permitted to be on the school compound to sell food. This is in respect with the senior high schools across the country.
In the Director-General’s, Prof. Kwasi Opoku-Amankwah further reiteration, he said, “selling of food on the junior high school (JHS) compounds shall be frozen for the time being. He however laid down some safety protocols which headmasters of the various senior high schools must make sure food vendors adhere to.
All heads are to ensure that the number of vendors are reduced; vendors must follow health and safety protocols strictly; regular wearing of mask and also all health screenings required by the MMDA’s are strictly followed before a vendor is allowed to come onto the school compound.
He also emphasized that heads of various senior high schools must use their professional judgment in consultation with the District Directors of Education to ensure the schools are safe.
