The management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has urged staff who want to take their annual leave to do so following the President’s recent update on the novel virus situation, and the directives on workplace management and conferences.
According to a press release endorsed by the Director-General of GES, Prof. Kwasi Opoku Amankwa, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has directed that all offices should rationalize staff on rotational basis. Staff who want to take their annual leave should be encouraged to do so.
Meanwhile, directors are however urged to ensure that regular work in the offices is not undermined.
Further, it is directed that all training programmes as well as all other activities which have the potential of bringing many staff to a central point should be suspended for the time being.
Subsequently, the “Orientation for Regional and District inset Committee” scheduled to begin from February 7, 2021, and end on April 1. 2021 has been suspended.
It has however assured stakeholders that new directives on training programs will be issued in due course.
According to the press statement, it is the expectation of Management of GES that these directives would be implemented in such a manner to protect the health and safety of staff and at the same time ensure the continual performance of the critical functions of the Service.
