Teaching duration reduced in all elementary schools in Ghana-Check it Out

The General secretary of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) has indicated that the number of hours spent in school will be reduced when schools resumes.

According to him, teachers and students are not going to spend 6-7 hours as it used to be in schools. Teaching duration will be reduced to four hours as part of key safety measures put in place as students return to school.

Speaking in an interview, he disclosed that the authorities are not considering the usual instructional hours scheduled for students. He was however empathic about the decision of the authorities to keep students in schools for a maximum of four hours each day.

“We do not expect students in kindergarten and the elementary to stay up in school after 12 noon as the pandemic is at stake,” he stated.

This measure forms one of the keys developed guidelines for students by the government to create a conducive environment for teaching and learning as students return to school, he added.
