The management of the University of Cape Coast in collaboration with the Ghana Association of Teachers (GNAT) and other education stakeholders earlier in October released an advertisement for a sandwich top-up programme for Diploma teachers.

Many teachers took delight in the application process but the application portal was shut abruptly. Individuals who had the interest of applying but was affected by this decision by the institute were highly disappointed.
Due to this circumstance, the Cape Coast University gave a timeline by assuring the general public that the application portal would be opened which turned out to be false.

Currently, in-service DBE holders who missed the first opportunity are in a state of bewilderment.
However, news reaching us from a very reliable source indicates that currently, the first advertisement is over and no more accessible online.

Applicants who filled the online form when the advertisement was floated have already been captured and the data is being processed for the commencement of the programme and such candidates however do not need to apply again when the new advertisement is floated.

A new advertisement to be floated in about two weeks’ time will cater for those who could not apply and such applicants would form the second batch who will start their programme about two months after the first batch.
The source further states that the proposed date for the commencement of the programme is by the middle of November 2020.
